The NEET-UG application fee is roughly ₹1,700 for General, ₹1,600 for General-EWS and OBC-NCL, and ₹1,000 for SC, ST, PwD and third-gender candidates, paid online at application. Candidates taking the exam outside India pay substantially more, around ₹9,500. The fee is non-refundable — including if you do not appear — and there is no provision to pay it later or in instalments.

- The fee is non-refundable in all circumstances, including illness, a clashing exam or not appearing.
- Pay from a card or account you control. Failed transactions where money is debited usually auto-reverse in 7–10 working days, but an unconfirmed payment means no application.
- Download the confirmation page immediately after payment. It is the only proof.
- A category certificate must be valid and in the prescribed format to claim the reduced fee. An invalid certificate can mean paying the difference or losing the application.

The counselling fees come later and catch families out — MCC and state counselling both charge registration and security deposits well before any tuition is due.
